There’s a pattern I’ve developed in my AI projects. A set of tools that I’ve been using together.

Many of these tools are familiar, I’m sure. But U may not be aware of all of these.

The pattern is to create a “base,” a folder dedicated to a specific theme, area, or usecase.

That “base” uses any and all of the following tools:

  • Git
  • Beads
  • Emacs & Org-Mode
  • SOP’s
  • Personas
  • Context Files

All of this is a thin but mutually supportive layer on top of the magnificent, incredible achievement that is AI.

Git provides version control.

Beads provides AI-native task and project management.

Emacs and Org Mode provide a way for the user to interact with, edit, and create files. Outlining and property storage are especially useful.

Markdown could be used as an alternative, of course, but Org Mode is my personal preference.

SOP’s are useful for establishing clear actions or sequences for the AI to take. Skills are similar but it’s nice to have a procedures.org file with all the SOP’s for a specific project.

Personas are specific personalities that U ask the AI to roleplay as. This really does shape the character of its responses. It’s also helpful to be able to address a specific persona to be able to summon an entire context.

With these tools as a foundation, a base dedicated to “health” or “learning” or “work” can grow over time, improve through multiple conversations and Iterations. Best practices or patterns in one base can easily be adopted in other bases or generalized to other systems.

Just a few simple, familiar ingredients can evolve to make dramatic complexity and provide immense benefit!
