- primarily, it makes a lot of sense of aspects of my life that would otherwise seem random or arbitrary, but feel internally quite meaningful and purposeful, non-arbitrary.
- secondarily, teachers i have respected say it is true, and also most spiritual traditions have some teachings about reincarnation. i take it on faith from them
- lastly, and to me least significantly, but also perhaps most interesting, there is pretty compelling evidence from both NDE’s and Ian Stevenson’s studies of children who remember past lives that reincarnation exists. I’ve had a number of friends who also remember past lives, or did when they were kids. For myself I don’t remember past lives although i increasingly have intuitions about how specific people connect to me, idk if they are true or not.
it’s an interesting question to me how a non-biased person (either way) who is oriented towards the scientific mindset would view Stevenson’s research, whether they would find it valid or not. i am biased because i already believe in reincarnation
