I recently made a resolution: I only want to wear clothes with pleasant touchfeel.
Touchfeel is the way something feels physically, as a sensation against your skin.
Some clothes have pleasant touchfeel. They are smooth and soft, light and gentle.
Other clothes don’t. They are itchy, or oddly weighted, or bunch up in strange ways.
Since I made this resolution, I’ve only worn the subset of my clothes that have pleasant touchfeel.
That’s a small number of clothes in an already small wardrobe.
But it’s so much better this way.
I realize that before, I was constantly spending small amounts of effort and energy to equanimize unpleasant sensations.
I’m glad that I know how to do that. I’m glad that I can. I’m glad that it’s easy to do so, even.
But I don’t want to have to be doing that constantly.
I want to spend that effort and energy elsewhere.
I want to enjoy how my body feels.
I want to enjoy my life.
And I’m already so much happier, having set this intention.
