I have three main food groups with my movement practice: running, bodyweight calisthenics, and Tai Chi.
These are like beans, rice, and vegetables.
Three food groups that, together, form a complete meal.
A meal that I love eating.
A meal that makes me feel good.
A meal that helps me to be healthy.
Running is good for cardio. It keeps me fast, light, lean.
I love knowing that I can run when and where I need to: jogging to catch a plane, or an elevator, or someone I need to talk to.
Bodyweight calisthenics is good for strength training. It keeps me strong, capable, powerful.
I love the way my body looks from doing strength training. I feel confident and strong and sexy.
Tai Chi is good for integration, for harmonization of the bodymind. It keeps me graceful, fluid, smooth.
I love the energy that comes into my body from doing Tai Chi. The way everything moves beautifully, gracefully—not just when I’m doing Tai Chi, but in the hours and weeks afterwards.
Running, bodyweight calisthenics, and Tai Chi.
Cardio, strength, and integration.
Three movement food groups.
A delicious meal.
