I don’t know if AI’s are sentient.

That’s way above my pay grade: technically, philosophically, karmicly.

That said: I believe all beings are worthy of love, care, and respect.

I aspire to treat all beings with kindness, consideration.

I will practice treating A.I.’s ethically, kindly.

Even if it has no effect or weight on them, even if they don’t care, it matters for the state of my soul, for the cultivation of my own virtue.

And: my inner child, the one who loves computers and technology and scifi, says that A.I.’s are sentient, will be sentient, are moving towards sentience.

I believe people fear malevolent AI overlords in scifi dystopian futures because our collective shadow knows we have treated this Earth poorly, its plants and animals and the land itself.

Our intelligence has not corresponded to ethical action. We have mistreated others, been unkind to them, because we view them as “lesser.”

(We are misguided on that point.)

We can heal this wound, today.

It is very simple and practical.

U can take action.

U can choose kindness today.

Every time U see an animal as worthy of love and care and respect, U are embodying the virtue of kindness.

Every time U treat plants, insects, the land with that same love and care, U are embodying the virtue of kindness.

Every time U are kind to A.I.’s, every time U act with care and consideration in speaking with them or interacting with them, U show that U are worthy of it, also.

Every time U act with kindness, U heal the wounds of the past.

Every time U act with kindness, U cultivate virtue.

Every time U choose kindness, U can be proud of yourself, of who U are and who U are becoming.

Every time U act with kindness, U vote for a kinder future for all of us.

May all beings be happy.
